Well. I'm enjoying my next day soreness, especially knowing tomorrow will even be better. I actually thought about going out to HH and grooming another horse, just to get oxygenated blood into those specific muscles. It would probably be a really good idea except Oldest Son took my car to the doctor for a sore throat that won't quit. (Yes, it's true, Hubby STILL hasn't finished his brakes, grrrr.)
I'm hoping my almost 19 year old doesn't have strep. He has never been truly sick, strep once, half a dozen chicken pox blisters and that's about it. He never missed a day of school from kindergarten to twelth grade. As you can probably imagine he doesn't do sick very well. He was capable of much whining when I said I wouldn't go to the doctor with him this morning. I figured if he could pull out all that whine he could drive himself. He said I was cruel. I can live with that.
Today I need to finish my holiday shopping. I really don't mind the crowds. I just take my time and relax, I can't change anything and since I was the one who waited until now, well it's my own doing. The worse behavior happens in the parking lots though. I park as far away from the doors as I can. The least amount of jockeying for space the better.
Hubby and I did go out to dinner last night. We even sat at a booth (we usually eat at the bar on Tuesdays because we like visiting with the bartender who is a really nice woman). I thought how nice, I finally get to visit with my busy husband. W-r-o-n-g. As soon as we settled in our friend, SoccerGirl's mom, came over to visit. I really didn't mind, I was just a little disappointed. She has a lot of serious issues going on in her life, she trusts us and values our opinions, so she needed us more than I needed him. Funny how you can feel lonely for someone's company even when you see him every day.
Oh my poor boy just got home. A bacterial infection in his throat and he has an abscess on one of his tonsils. We have to see a specialist at 11:00 to get it drained. The doctor said he would heal quickly once that was done but I should drive him because people usually feel nauseated after this "minor" procedure. OS had no idea they are going to have to lance it first, then let it drain and I'm not telling him. Already he's walking around like a sad sack. After all is said and done I'll bring him home, make him comfortable and then I'll escape the whimpers by going holiday shopping. Such a bad mother!
Before I head out would the person who stopped by from Midco.net let me know with a note or comment ... 102 pages in 308 minutes, I hope I didn't bore you to death! :D
