I'm still sore from Monday's barn chores. Tuesday the photographs took two hours to complete and today was a special event for which I volunteered to be a sidewalker. Ooo boy, my poor body. I can't wait until night falls because I am going to slowly climb into the hot tub for a nice soak.
Today was my first time being a sidewalker (client in saddle, horse leader guiding the horse and sidewalker(s) supports/coaches client). It was extremely easy for me to catch on - so like coaching personal training clients. I don't want to do more than the one class I volunteered for in the winter session but I'm glad I did that much.
Today the intensity of my want to sit on a horse increased to fever pitch. I cannot wait for the yoga on horseback class. I'm thinking I may have to invest in riding lessons. Every chance I have to work increases my confidence to handle and make a connection with the horses. I am beginning to read their expressions and body language; just beginning, but beginning. It's a very exciting and rewarding experience. And I really like the staff there, they seem very genuine in their desire to make this the best facility for clients and horses. I like that.
The pain and soreness is completely worth it.
Oh! I asked to work Tuesday instead of Monday next week and guess what's going to be happening? The horse dentist is coming (mildly interesting) AND the horse(y) chiropractor is coming, which is extremely interesting to me. I should have chores all done before she arrives and she encourages interested people to shadow her. I cannot wait! I'd like to speak with her about equine massage also.
Hubby still has not repaired Oldest Son's car brakes. I am not a happy camper. He has been unbelievable busy with work, however he's found time to go out to dinner twice, exercise two times a day and get to bed at a reasonable hour all week. (Not that I'm keeping track.) I wouldn't care so much if I didn't have to share my car with the boy. Tomorrow OS has another exam at college so most of the day will be spent without a car a-gain.
When 'o when am I going to wrap up my holiday shopping?
