As the years go by the balance of our family changes, as it should. Where I used to be the end all be all of my boys' lives, sports, girls, their buddies and their father has been slowly but surely moving me down the latter of importance. As it should be.
While I am incredibly grateful they seek out Hubby and they all happen to actually like spending time together (and teasing the crap out of each other), this is usually what I see:
That's why when Youngest Son came to me yesterday to share some secrets it meant a lot to me. Secrets (which happen to be no big deal at all, he just felt like talking) meant only for me. He told me, "Don't tell Dad cause he'll just hassle me when ..." His response to why he chose to tell me was, "Because I trust you. You listen to me."
Sometimes that's all a mama needs to hear.
