Friday Yardage ~ 2006-09-29

Gold star for me - I completed my first five days of torture swimming laps. Yay. Today I did 2,100 yards and 15 minutes of treading water. I would have treaded a while longer but my lifeguard friend wasn't there to talk with. I didn't keep track of yards on Monday but from Tuesday to today I swam 7,200 yards. Wow, those pounds should be melting away. LOL. Not yet, my body loves to hold onto weight. So I am building physical endurance and personal patience. Lovely.

Tonight is the guys' night out. Hubby is riding separate because he doesn't plan on staying at the casino as long as the other guys. One other friend is driving with him. We're supposed to go see a band later tonight, we'll see if he gets home in time.

I wasn't planning on staying home by my party pooper self though, Youngest Son has a baseball game I had planned to attend. Speaking of YS, he is doing better and better as the days go by, getting used to the breakup with SoccerGirl. Hubby and I actually met up with SG's mother and her boyfriend last night for a drink. I didn't speak of the breakup until she asked how YS was doing. I told her he was surprised and very sad at first but now he is hanging out with all his friends he had lost touch with since SG didn't want him to do anything except with her. Yeah, it was a little dig but not even close to how I am feeling about the situation. I don't like how he is allowing her to string him along in the hope she will choose him. For example she told him, "We can be normal on the 11th." The 11th would be their two year anniversary. I asked YS what were they supposed to be until the 11th, did normal on the 11th mean she expected a gift (when hell freezes over, if I have anything to say about it), and what would happen after the 11th? He hadn't thought it through until I brought all that up. He got a little mad (at her), finally. Maybe that string is getting a little frayed. A mama can hope.

I lost one of my contacts today. I am assuming it went down the drain but there is a slight chance it could still be in my eye - floating somewhere toward my brain. Of course it was my last pair until my appointment on October 20th. The receptionist was nice enough to give me another but I just wanted to buy a box. She said it wasn't necessary but now I have to stretch this pair to last weeks longer than the recommended two weeks. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Anybody have any good plans for the weekend? I think it's going to be nice here tomorrow. I'd like to head inland to check the foliage for photo ops. Maybe I can talk Hubby into a ride tomorrow and work on Sunday since it's supposed to rain that day. The nights are becoming too cold to ride the Harley so we have to squeeze rides into the daylight hours.

We discovered the chilly factor last night. For the first time I had to zipper the collar of my leather jacket all the way up to my chin and buckle the neck strap. I almost scared myself to death when I passed a mirror. With this short, short, short haircut, the leather right up to my chin with a buckle, jeans and Harley riding boots ... the only thing missing was my whip and paddle! :D

Before I check out of here I'd like to wish Moee a very happy 30th birthday! Happy Birthday, you young babe!
